I'm a freelance translator from English, Spanish and French into Italian, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. I have been studying English, Spanish and French for many years, and various experiences      have allowed me to achieve a solid understanding of the cultures whose languages I have studied and develop good intercultural skills. However, this is not enough to be an excellent professional translator!  So... What makes me worth working with?

Excellent skills

I only translate into my native language (Italian) to make sure I offer high-level services, and I can produce excellent Italian texts thanks to my valuable writing skills.  I'm also able to use the best CAT tools (e.g. Trados Studio) and software to ensure consistency and run quality control checks.

Qualifications

I have an MA in Translation Studies from the University of Birmingham (UK), which makes me a professional with high-quality formal education in the field. Moreover, I have a BA in Linguistic and Intercultural Mediation from the Università degli Studi di Catania (Italy).

Memberships

I am an Affiliate Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), a professional organisation based in the UK which offers support in Continuing Professional Development and maintaining commitment to quality. I also volunteer as a subtitler.             

Continuing Professional Development

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is vital for translators to update their skills and continue offering high-standard services. This is why I am committed to undertaking a minimum of 30 hours of CPD each year.
